Day 238: Lamentations 3:37-5:22

As I read this I think about wealth and prosperity.  We even use words like "security" to describe it.  But we can see how quickly it can all be gone.  I guess there is a certain peace of mind when you know how much you have in your bank, and barring anything big and out of the ordinary happening- you will be fine for a period of time.  But letting that security get in the way of our 'security' in God is so wrong.  It could all disappear tomorrow and what is left in a persons life is the only thing that will make one person different from the next.  

Interesting last verse.....restore us.....unless you are angry beyond measure.  I'm sure that was what it felt like.  And definitely what they deserved (and us too!)
