From the introduction in my Bible...."What makes a person cry says a lot about that person--whether he or she i self-centered or God-centered. The book of Lamentations allows us to see what made Jeremiah sorrowful. As one of God's choice servants, he stands alone in the depth of his emotions, his care for the people, his love for the nation, and his devotion to God."
It really was the 'end of an era.' (2:15) "Is this the city that was called the perfection and beauty, the joy of the whole earth?"
Finally in 3:22 we begin to see hope again! Because of the Lord's great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. AMEN!
