Day 227: Jeremiah 30-31

I like the comparison in chapter 30 of sin to an incurable disease.  "No remedy for your sore, no healing for you."  But God says he "will restore you to health and heal your wounds."

One of my favorite verses: "I have loved you with an everlasting love; I have drawn you with loving-kindness."  31:3

In 31:33, God talks about putting his law in their minds and writing it on their hearts.  I think this is definitely different than when the law was written on stone tablets.  My notes say that when we turn our lives over to God, he, by his Holy Spirit, builds into us the desire to obey him.

  1. It is funny to me how people try to deny that there is an emptiness in their lives reserved for God... "I don't need God. He is just not what I'm looking for" He put his word into their minds and hearts. WE are made in His image... how can they deny him when He loves us with an everlasting love...

    I just don't get it!
