Day 220: Jeremiah 4-6

So that the people could return to God, they had to "break up the unplowed ground."  What a good illustration of what we need to do.

I have always likes the illustration of refining metals with fire.  (6:27-30)  Severe testing can be so beneficial to a believer if he turns to God and allows the impurities to be burned away.  But for some, these trials accomplish nothing positive...perhaps because there is nothing left when the impurities are burned up?
