Day 229: Jeremiah 35-37

I knew who the Nazirites were, but I don't remember reading about the Recabites before.  Kind of similar I guess.

Concerning the burning of Jeremiah's scroll, my notes pointed out that many people have tried to destroy God's "written" word, but God's Word will stand forever.

Interesting in chapter 37 that in one verse, they say that the new king paid no attention to the the words the Lord had spoken through Jeremiah.  Then in the very next verse, he wants Jeremiah to pray for him.  WHAT?!?!  You can't have it both ways.  But aren't people today just the same.  They really don't want any part of obedience and following God, but at the first sign of trouble in their life, who do they want to cry out to?
