And so we begin the pattern of good king-bad king.  After 3 bad years of Abijah, we get 41 good years with Asa.

I love that terms like "worthless scoundrels" are used in the Bible!  (13:7)

I wonder if it was difficult for Asa to "dethrone" his own grandmother for her idolatry.  He truly did believe that God's law superseded all others.
