Day 161: Proverbs 22-24

23:4  "Do not wear yourself out to get rich; have the wisdom to show restraint.  Cast but a glance at riches, and they are gone."  So much of our country is caught up in this!  So much of our time is devoted to getting ahead.  We are already so much further ahead of what is "necessary."  We should be spending more time storing up that heavenly treasure!

I have enjoyed reading through proverbs.....

  1. I know that Beth commented earlier that she wished the Proverbs were organized better into categories, but I have to say it really has challenged me daily to read some of the same info day after day. Each day when I read the wisdom statements, I get convicted about how I should do more, give more, love more, watch my tongue, have more faith and trust, etc. Then the next day I read some of the same stuff and it helps me focus on doing better today than yesterday in these areas. Just being reminded again and again of what God desires for us in these areas in such simple but profound statements to continue hold up to in our life and see where we are at.

I too have enjoyed reading the Proverbs in such a series and was really challenged.
