Day 158: Proverbs 13-15

My notes point out that Solomon wrote chapters 1-9, but the rest of the book was actually written by others, but collected by Solomon.  He was still wise to discern which proverbs should be included!
  • He who walks with the wise grows wise, but a companion of fools suffers harm.
  • There is a way that seems right to a man, but in the end it leads to death.
  • All hard work brings a profit, but mere talk leads only to poverty.
I notice several themes which tend to be reinforced through-out these proverbs.  Things like receiving discipline, having a temper, greed, how you treat your neighbor, parenting, etc. seem to be repeated.  But everything is just mixed together....maybe I am the only one who would like to have them grouped together by topic!  But this way you have to ready more to find something you are looking for I guess.
