Day 170: Ecclesiastes 1-6

I have always liked Ecclesiastes!

I can see how someone might read this book, especially the beginning, and come out depressed.  We have to remember that life is only meaningless WITHOUT God.  I think Solomon is definitely trying to teach a lesson with this book.

What do you think of the verse: "For with much wisdom comes much sorrow; the more knowledge, the more grief."  I'm just curious...  Do you think Solomon was regretting asking God for wisdom at this stage?

I love "He has also set eternity in the hearts of men."  He actually 'programmed' us to not be content with earthy things.  It makes me wonder how some 'ungodly' people can seem to be so  content with their lives.

I like 5:1 "Go near to listen."  I spend too much time praying what I think God should do.

I think part of what I like so much about this book is the timelessness of it.  It is all still so true today!!
