Day 167: 1 Kings 9, 2 Chronicles 8

Chapter 9 starts out with "Solomon had achieved all he had desired to do."  I don't know, but I think this is a bad place to be.  How can you ever have achieved everything you wanted?  We always need goals, hopefully Godly goals.  I would think that if you got to the point when you thought you were finished, you would start getting into trouble of some kind.

In 2 Chron 8:11, I see that Solomon knows he is not doing the right thing by marrying someone whose beliefs are different than his own.  He seems to justify it or 'make it okay' by having her live elsewhere.  God's laws are not up for modification.
