Poor Jacob.......he gets beat at his own game. First he conspires with his mother to trick Isaac into giving him Esau's blessing and then he is tricked by Laban into marrying Leah. He actually responds better than you think he might based on his character thus far.
Through these stories, I am tempted to keep reading beyond the day's chapters!
