Day 1: Genesis 1-3

Okay, here we go! This is my first attempt at setting up a blog so we'll see what happens. Hopefully this is a place where we can share what we are learning and encourage one another to hang in there. I will try and go in each morning and establish a day by putting the scripture in for the day. I'm not sure if everyone is reading the chronological plan, but I will go with that for now. I think I am the only one (since I set it up) who can make a posting but everyone else can comment. To add your name to your posting, you might have to set up an account (through google) or you can just sign your name within the text of your comment. I have done that on other people's blogs before.

This is worth a try.....we'll modify if need be.

  2. Thanks for setting this up. I was actually thinking a very similar thing, but didn't want to start it. For a quick introduction, I'm Lindsay for those of you who I have not met. I guess you could say that I am new to Grace, but have not been around for the past couple months. I am really looking forward to starting the new year off right and hopefully will meet all of you in person very soon.

Back to the reading for the day...I found it really interesting that in chapter 3, verse 1 the serpent said that God said, "You must not eat from any tree in the garden". It is just a reminder of how Satan is such a liar. God said to eat from every other tree. He gave us so much, yet Satan is able to take the one thing that God asked us not to do and to focus all the attention on that. It is so easy to believe Satan's lies. It is our job to make sure that we believe only God's truth!

  3. God lays out His plan for redemption in Genesis 3:15. It is easy to read these chapters and not reflect on the magnitude of what is going on. Out of nothing, God created. That in and of itself is astounding.
