Day 361: 2/3 John

In 2 John he says that he has much more to say that he will tell them in person. That makes what he DID write that much more important and urgent from my view. 2 things made the letter...show love by being obedient and watch out for false teachers. Both are really strong reoccurring themes in the letters, but in this situation, John felt it couldn't wait.

3 John is taking care of some business...commending one brother for his hospitality (doing great things for people, even if they are strangers) and reprimanding another brother for pride and gossip.

My take away from today? I should be more about encouraging and confronting sin. These were obviously urgent things to John and they should be to me.
