Day 342: Romans 4-7

To me Chapter 4 really flies in the face of what some denominations believe about baptism being a requirement for salvation. This chapter talks about circumcision being a work and that Abraham was 'saved' before he was circumcised. Why should baptism be viewed differently?

Romans is so rich in helping understand the whole transaction of Christ between God and us. However, for me anyways, I am seeing that it has to be read really slowly and pondered. There is so much to process. Most pages in my Bible have more footnotes than text on each page!

5:18-19 are good verses to understand the big picture....Adam through Christ.

Love Romans 6.

Chapter 7 was so important for the people to grasp as they made the transition of living under the law to living under the Lordship of Christ. They had to understand the connection.
