Day 350: Ephesians

The first chapter of Ephesians is so rich! Just like kids love to hear about when they were born, I love to hear how God chose ME before he even created the world. How cool is that!

"For we are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do." THAT is why we were created. Not so we can occasionally do something good and then feel good about ourselves...."yay me....look how much I helped that person." NO! That is our whole purpose and should be the norm of our lives, not the occasional thing.

I think that 3:17-19 is a good prayer for so many who would call themselves Christians and sit in church most Sundays but don't totally get it. "I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the saints, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge-that you may be filled to the measure of all fullness of God." Amen.

And this is a good prayer for me: 6:19-20 "Pray also for me, that whenever I open my mouth, words may be given me so that I will fearlessly make known the mystery of the gospel, for which I am an ambassador in chains. Pray that I may declare it fearlessly, as I should."

There is SO much in Ephesians that I could comment on! It doesn't seem fair that we have to read it all in one day.
