Day 5: Job 6-9

I wonder how God feels when we talk to him like Job does. I have to think that he wants us to be completely open and honest with Him, regardless of what we are saying. The alternative would be shutting Him out all together which would have to be infinitely worse. I heard once that the opposite of love is not hate....it is indifference.

Even Job had a good sense of knowing that there is nothing he can do to earn God's favor. I guess they lived in a system of sacrifices but I wonder if sacrifices were often viewed as "earning" forgiveness, like it is something they deserved because of something THEY did. Interesting.
