Day 27: Genesis 43-45

My favorite part of the whole Joseph story is when Joseph offers forgiveness to his brothers. And ultimately, why? Because he could see God's hand in the whole story! He knew that God was the one who had orchestrated the scenario of him being sold into slavery to that one day his family might have food and survive a famine. God was keeping his covenant to Abraham! So why can and should we offer forgiveness to others? Because we know God's WHOLE story. Joseph's awareness of the "God story" in all of this brought a very emotional response. And so it should for us as well.
