Day 4: Job 1-5

I really like the introductions to the books in the Message Bible. They give some good explanations and analogies. There is so much to be learned in Job about undeserved suffering, what our response to that suffering can and should look like, and also how to respond to suffering that our friends are going through.

I am in awe of Job's IMMEDIATE response to all the bad things happening to him. The Message says "Job got to his feet, ripped his robe, shaved his head, then fell to the ground and worshiped: 'Naked I came from my mother's womb, naked I'll return to the womb of the earth. God gives, God takes. God's name be ever blessed.'" I want to have that IMMEDIATE response to bad things!
