Day 19: Genesis 22-24

I am always astounded at Abraham's obedience by being willing to sacrifice his only son, who had been a miracle baby to begin with! The story gives no indication of hesitation or even the emotions that I am sure Abraham was experiencing. But the most important thing is obedience. Maybe that is why the story is told this way. So we never miss the most important thing.

What I love most about the story of Isaac and Rebekah is God's presence throughout the process. The servant who was responsible for going and finding a wife for Isaac had such a dependence on God and always gave him the credit.
