Day 16: Genesis 12-15

Don't you wish the Bible told us more about why God chose the people He chose? We rarely get much insight into the character of these men and women that God chose to play major roles in our spiritual history. We do get to see how Abraham gets certain things right (going where God calls him to, often building alters and worshiping, etc.) and certain things wrong (lying about his wife being his sister for example) but I just wish we knew more about people.

I love that "Abraham believed Him and God counted him righteous because of his faith." Not because of any great feat that Abraham performed.....but because he believe that God was going to do great things through his descendants even though he didn't think Sarah could have children.
