Day 211: Isaiah 54-58

I wonder how the Jews felt during the Holocaust and other times of persecution after reading 54:9-10.  God makes a covenant with them to never rebuke them or be angry towards them.  I'm sure that is what the Holocaust must have felt like.

I am struck in these verses how loving and compassionate God is to his people.  Isaiah could have used just a few words to say that God was going to draw his people back to himself, but instead he uses a bunch of chapters to show how crazy God is about people and how he will show that love.

Chapter 58 gives some really great points on true worship and true fasting.
