Day 197: Isaiah 13-17

Today we begin the next section of Isaiah, chapters 13-23, which are judgement on other nations.

At the end of chapter 13 when Isaiah tells what the future holds for the powerful and mighty Babylon, they must have laughed at him.  But now Babylon lies in ruin, buried under mounds of dirt and sign in present day Iraq.

Just an observation.....the layout on the page in my Bible looks the same as the poetry sections of the Bible (Psalms).  I guess it is because it is not just reporting an event like other sections of scripture.  I looked ahead to Revelation and it does not look like Isaiah.

My footnotes for most every section in today's reading tell of how these prophecies came true since they were written.  To me this adds even more credibility to Isaiah's prophecies of the Messiah.

A long reading....and I am still a day behind!!!
