Day 182: Obadiah, Psalms 82-83

Wow!  We have read half of the Bible!  I am so loving this journey.  I am already finding it hard to imagine being finished at the end of the year.  I am toying with the idea of starting over in 2010!  And I am definitely not a 'read that book again' kind of person.

In verse 15, it says the day of the Lord is near for all nations (meaning judgment).  Up to that point it felt like he was just talking to Edom.  But it was a good reminder that the Bible, whether stories or letters or laws or prophecies was written for us as well.  "As you have done, it will be done to you; your deeds will return upon your own head."

Good reminder: "Defend the cause of the weak and fatherless; maintain the rights of the poor and oppressed.  Rescue the weak and needy; deliver them from the hand of the wicked."
