Day 187: 2 Kings 14; 2 Chronicles 25

I think the battles that must have saddened God the most were the ones between Israel and Judah, like in this chapter.  Just like Civil War is sad (although sometimes necessary, I guess).

It seems like the first Jeroboam is the benchmark for evil kings, and David is the benchmark for godly kings.  Most of the ones to follow are measured up to them.  Apparently Jeroboam II lived up to his namesake.

If you think about it, what Amaziah did, was pretty stupid.  He conquers the Edomites and then begins worshiping their gods.  Apparently, their gods did not protect them....so what's the point???
