Day 268: Ezra 7-10

Ezra returned to the land with a 2nd group of exiles, 80 years after Zerubbabel. Ezra found the temple rebuilt, but the lives of the people in shambles. Ezra rayed for guidance and then followed through with action.

As I read the chapter on intermarriage, I see how this can sometimes be taken out of context. God does not oppose us marrying people of other cultures. He is against marrying non-believers. I think Ezra's prayer in 9 is a good example of praying for the sins of others. Ezra was probably not guilty of these sins, but yet he prayed "we" and "us".
