The prophecies in 25 end with the statement "Then they will know that I am the Lord." They needed to see that God wasn't just doing all of this for His pleasure or just to 'be mean.' He had an ultimate purpose. That that might know who He is..... and that they would KNOW Him.
Tyre was guilty of pride. foot note: "Unwarranted conceit or pride in our own accomplishments should be a danger signal to us. God is not against our finding pleasure or satisfaction in what we do; he is against arrogant, inflated self-esteem that looks down on others. We must acknowledge God as the basis and source of our lives.
