I see the Psalmist's deep love for the law and God's precepts. It seems to me that this is not our natural inclination. My kids do not "love" my rules. I know, that is a way we show our kids we love them and maybe at some deep level they, too, "love the law". But there is still a large part in my kids that think they know better than I do. Just like me with God too often.
"I will walk about in freedom for I have sought out your precepts." This sounds like such nonsense to unbelievers. To them, freedom means no rules.
I found it helpful to read this Psalm with replacing the word "law" with "Word". Since we have the whole scriptures and not just the Torah, I think this is a cool way to read 119.
