Chapter 8 is definitely the glory days for David. He is having one victory after another and doing all the right things....seeking God's counsel, dedicating plunder to God, etc. Since I know Bathsheba is just around the corner, I wonder if his pride and self view might be rising through all these victories....
But chapter 9 shows that David is still very much a man of integrity.
I like the concept of dedicating things we receive, whether through battle or work or whatever to the Lord. I guess by tithing we do that. But do we keep the other 90% and consider it "ours?"
