I wonder about the verse 5:5, "you hate all who do wrong." I have always heard and lived by "hate the sin, love the sinner" and assumed that this was an attribute of God as well. Psalms like this one also make me think about who my enemies are. "Not a word from their mouth can be trusted."
Psalm 38: I know I have a consequences in my life as a result of my sin, but I am not sure my sin brings me to the place David's did in this Psalm. He seems physically, mentally and spiritually crushed and broken before God.
I love Psalm 42.
I know my sin doesn't do that to me either, but it should!
