I was thinking how great it was that the people knew exactly what they were supposed to do each day. Based on what the pillar of cloud/fire was doing, they knew whether they were supposed to stay encamped or move. There have been times in my life when I would have been so excited to have such clear direction! I guess with that many people, it had to be really clear or else you would have some people saying "I think we are supposed to stay here for awhile" and others who always want to press on towards the goal.
I think how frustrating that would have been for Moses as the leader. It is so easy to doubt what God wants for you and especially when others are complaining. We need to listen to God and then trust in what He is saying no matter what others around us think.
