Day 54: Numbers 1-2

That is a ton of people! My notes say that with women and children, there were over 2 million! I just never picture that big of a crowd when I imagine what it was like. I assume the Levites were at least the size of the rest, so that is at least 32,200 who are responsible for caring for the tabernacle.

It's understandable why they needed to get organized so that it wasn't utter chaos.

  1. I was surprised by the number of people too, my Bible said there were at least 2.5 million. That is an amazing number that God provided for. My Bible says also that Aaron and his two sons were still the only two who were allowed to enter the temple and provide sacrifices, but the Levites cared for the temple. Only the direct decendants of Aaron were allowed to be priets, what a responsibility!

  2. Why weren't the Levites counted? God said not to and that is a good enough reason, but I am still curious.
