Ex. 10:1-2 gives the best explanation why God continues to harden Pharaoh's heart. "So that I may perform these miraculous signs of mine among them that you may tell your children and grandchildren how I dealt harshly with the Egyptians and how I performed my signs among them, and that you may know that I am the Lord." God knew what it would take to 'break' Pharaoh (getting personal and having his own firstborn die), but he still went through 9 other plagues first.
I didn't remember the part in 12:11 where it tells them how to dress while eating the passover feast in years to come. They were supposed to wear traveling clothes. I like the faith in that picture. Live like you KNOW God is going to act.
