In Psalm 81, as it talks about the "excitement" of music during worship I think about growing up in churches which sang nothing but hymns. Sure, many of the words were scripture, but there was definitely no enthusiasm or celebration involved. Emotions were definitely not involved, at least on my part. Do we get it totally right with contemporary worship? It seems closer, but still lacking sometimes. I guess we get to wait until heaven to experience TRUE worship.
In 81:13-16, I am reminded about how good things could be if only I listened and obeyed. My life seems pretty good, but how much more so could it be?

After reading Psalm 92, I made a list of things that I was thankful for. It gave me a much needed attitude adjustment!
