Day 113: 1 Chronicles 1-2

Uhhhh, okay. If you did more than skim these 2 chapters, kudos to you. I looked for names I recognized and saw where they fit in. I'm not sure what else I am taking away from these lists of names. And I see it goes on for quite a while yet.....

    I found the study notes in Bible helpful in this section. To actually see all these names from the beginning of creation and as we follow the lineage, eventually in the NT we can get to Jesus. I think it is a reminder that these were real people and there is a path from generation to generation that we can trace back to the beginning with Adam. I didn't remember that Ishmael had twelve sons and they made up 12 tribes too.

    I think it is neat that the history is recorded like that. I often want to trace my history back, but have not got around to doing it yet. It is neat to think that we would eventually be connected to many of these people. It would be amazing if we could ever really go back that far.

    Right now I am just thankful that I am a child of God and that he knows me by name!
