So what are these Israelites thinking now about having a king? They are probably wishing that this was one request God left unanswered. I'm sure nothing confirmed their worst fears than seeing their king kill 85 priests in one day!
This is like some kind of giant hide and seek game with Saul pursuing David from one town to the next. And when they finally catch with each other, we see David's true character.
