Day 316: Matthew 27; Mark 15

Man, those chief priests sure weren't getting it right. Judas finally has remorse for what he has done, but rather than helping him to seek forgiveness for his sin, their response is "That's your responsibility." Obviously that didn't sit too well with Judas.

This story never gets old. As I read it this time, I am looking back at the 2 inches of pages I have just read this year and thinking about Christ's sacrifice as a part of the whole story. Everything was leading up to what just happened. And everything that happens from this page on, is filtered through the lens of what just happened. Powerful.

Pilate actually did a favor by posting those guards to make sure the body wasn't stolen! People today might still hold to that theory if Pilate hadn't placed those guards.
