Day 313: Matthew 26; Mark 14
My notes point out that the act of Mary pouring perfume on Jesus and "wasting" a year's worth of salary may have been the proverbial straw that broke the camel's back for Judas. As treasurer, Judas was counting on an important position in Jesus' new government. But now he realized that this new kingdom was spiritual rather than physical or political. The betrayal seemed to be more of a political and financial play so he went that direction.
