Day 298: Luke 10-11; John 10:22-42

A good note on 10:2. In Christian service, there is no unemployment. God has enough work for everyone. Don't just sit back and watch others work - look for ways to help with the harvest.

I feel like 10:17-24 is a little glimpse into one of the really special moments between Jesus and his followers. It was definitely a high point for the 72 who returned from ministry. And I just LOVE Jesus' response.

Concerning how Jesus tells us in 11:8 to be bold in prayer, here is an EXCELLENT note: Persistence, or boldness, in prayer overcomes our insensitivity, not God's. To practice persistence does more to change our hearts and minds than his, and it helps us understand and express the intensity of our need. Persistence in prayer helps us recognize God's work.
