Day 284: Matthew 8:1-13; Luke 7

I am thinking about Luke 7:4-6. "This man deserves to have you do this (be healed) because he loves our nation and has built our synagogue." I am assuming that these our just outward signs of the man's faith in God, but it still kind of bugs me because it implies that we "deserve" anything good at all from God. My notes don't really say anything about this, but I would be curious if anyone knows more.

Love the story of the woman annointing Jesus' feet and his response to her and to the Pharisee's.
